In any new initiative, project, or enterprise, there is a leader starting from scratch to create a preferred future. At its essence, leadership – like design – is about actively creating the future rather than reacting to the present.
Designers work in the context of a need for action, as do leaders. Both require the ability to imagine what does not yet exist; to move forward with intention and purpose; to create new reality and meaning; to operate practically in the world. Good design, like good leadership, is an integrated response to a whole series of issues, requiring the ability to integrate and combine in creative ways. This is not linear problem-solving. Whole brain thinking is required. Creative process is integral.
Design Next™ begins at the intersection of leadership, creative process, and design thinking. From there, we create intensely experiential, innovative learning to assist leaders in formulating the future. We welcome participants to bring a project or an issue to the table, advancing that work through creative engagement and network learning.
