Perform Next™ Day 1
For any individual in any enterprise, the key learning opportunity is the Moment of Performance. The greatest learning in these moments is facilitated by a leader who is present, who sets up the opportunity well, and who provides meaningful feedback on the result. At every level, mastering these leadership skills will have an exceptional impact on individual performance and enterprise results.
Frequently leaders lack the tools to engage, and use rote praise (or blunt criticism) as a substitute for feedback. But neither praise nor criticism facilitates an individual’s growth. Feedback is the crucial leadership skill, to be rigorously practiced in the Moments of Performance.
The experiential design of Perform Next™ Day 1 generates deep understanding of this continuous feedback loop, and of how leader presence affects individual performance. Part of the first day is devoted to a real-life coaching demonstration, in which a senior enterprise leader is coached on a current, significant issue of his/her choosing. Participants then practice coaching, undertaking specific roles with specific learning outcomes. Everyone practices, builds skill, and receives feedback.
